It's All About the Journey

Today is your future. Live in the moment!

At Tynerdale Farm

The farmer said, “There are baby ducks on the pond, with their mother.”  So I went to see what I could see, grabbing the DSLR from it’s dusty shelf.

Tynerdale Farm-7518The ducklings and mama hurriedly raced through the water and ducked behind the island for safety, and out of view.  I waited, but they stayed.  I turned and walked up a bit, to see if I could take in the barn with the tree in the foreground, when suddenly …

“Mom?  Is that you?  What are you doing up here?  You’re not supposed to be here!” said Eliza.  She steps closer…

Tynerdale Farm-7543She stared at my as if to let me know it was not my place to be there, but hers.  So I started down the hill.  Satisfied, she walked away…

Tynerdale Farm-7547There is something special about Eliza.  She and Sofia ate peaches last summer, and there’s just something peaceful about both of them.  Creatures from God, with life lessons for us.

Let’s not forget the promise of tomorrow…

Life on the Pond

Fascinated with this group of wild life amphibians, and their little kingdom of Pond!  It took me three days to be able to sneak upon them and catch them in action.

The Case of “Nature is Mightier than the Shovel”

Friday I found the tunnel that the groundhog had decided should be his home (or is it a skunk?).  I decided, “it’s spring, he can find a newer and better home” and shoveled the dirt back in, covering the hole then with an old pumpkin, by way of peace offering.

Apparently, the rodent thought about as much of the dried up pumpkin as I did, for when I came home for lunch yesterday, this greeted me.

Then last night I dreamt that the darn little thing not only dug a hole, he excavated the entire cellar!  Those of you that have followed for awhile know that I have this great historical cellar. Built in 1835, it was the foundation for a cooperage and brewery.

Apparently nature has no regard for such “tomfoolery,” and the score is 2 groundhog and 1 Mankind.

It would be interesting to do an analysis of that dream though. Readers?
