It's All About the Journey

Today is your future. Live in the moment!

A Tribute to my Mother

I called my mother yesterday.  We took care of “business.”

Me:  “Did you try the Apple TV box I gave you?”

Mom: “Yes, I can’t remember how to do it.”  (Instruction…“oh yeah! Okay!“)  “I liked your cauliflower soup!”

Me: “I’ll send you the recipe! Before I forget, Mom, I wanted you to know that you don’t need to send me a card or a gift.  My birthday gift from you was last weekend when I sat in front of you and you combed my hair, told me I was your little girl.  That was the best gift ever, and I will carry that in my heart.”

Mom laughs.  “I knew that was coming!”

These are the memories I will carry in my heart about my mother.  She is a strong willed woman.  At 85, she doesn’t make any bones about what she says to anybody (comes with age, warning, we will all get there, if we can hang in there).  She is naughty and doesn’t do what her daughters want her to do.  Fed by Dad, of course!  Those two are never without the other.  A lesson we probably all could learn from!

“You are the most beautiful girl in the world!” said Dad when he sees this picture.

This was the most beautiful, for me.  I loved this photo of her in the kimono Dad bought in Japan, when he served in Korea.

You are a fantastic Grandmother!

And you are always dressed to kill.  You never go without makeup, you always present your best.

Mom, I love you, thank you for being my mother.  I will love you forever!  Happy Mother’s Day, 2018

(P.S. Yes, this is your card!)
